Overview

LeaveTheChair is a Chrome extension that helps people interrupt prolonged sitting during desk work by showing a silent stand-up reminder in the active browser tab. This policy explains what data is handled and why.

Data stored on your device

Reminder settings (such as interval, active hours, language, appearance, and on/off state) and reminder schedule/state information are stored locally using Chrome storage on your device. We do not operate a LeaveTheChair backend that receives these settings.

Location and weather (optional)

If you allow location access, the extension may use your approximate location to show local weather in the settings popup. This may involve requests to third-party services (for example, IP/location lookup and/or weather APIs). Location is used only for this optional weather feature. It is not used for advertising, cross-site tracking, or selling data. Core reminder features work without granting location permission.

Website access

The extension can inject a reminder overlay on normal web pages so the reminder can appear in your active tab. LeaveTheChair does not scrape, upload, or sell webpage content. Restricted pages such as chrome:// pages cannot display the reminder.

How we use data

• Provide stand-up / sedentary-break reminders
• Remember your local preferences
• Optionally show weather in the settings popup

We do not sell user data. We do not use collected data for purposes unrelated to the extension’s single purpose, and we do not use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
